'Yorkshire Tartan' photoshoot

I decided I'd like to use a local location for this and where better than at Goathland station on the North York Moors which in later life is once again my backyard and the area where I grew up, learnt to drive and was my family's constant go-to destination for a Sunday outing.

If Goathland station looks familiar, it's actually better known to Harry Potter fans as 'Hogsmeade' and to 'Heartbeat' TV series fans as 'Aidensfield'.

The station is a prominent stop on the lovely North York Moors heritage railway which runs regular steam train excursions in the summer months across the moors between Pickering and Whitby.

'Bloodlust' - Coming Soon!

Whitby is only thirty minutes from where I live across the North York Moors and I've long been aware of it being the inspiration for Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and its prominent place in Goth culture. It also hosts a twice yearly Goth weekend and which I myself have attended on several occasions.

My forthcoming 'Bloodlust' collection has been very much inspired as a result and features a two-tone black and red design that works wonderfully well with my range of premium bags and accessories. Goth fans especially will find that the collection provides the perfect opportunity to maintain an everyday link to their Goth side whilst also providing the perfect accessory for dedicated Goth events.

'Boilerplate' - Coming Soon!

Having created the Goth-inspired 'Bloodlust' collection, it was a logical next step to create another inspired by Steampunk.

Created from a real-life image of Victorian steam-driven engineering, 'Boilerplate' is full of brass wheels, dials pipes and rivets. It prints beautifully onto the range of premium leather bags and related accessories.

I originally became aware of Steampunk as a result of attending Whitby's Goth weekends but it now enjoys its own dedicated twice yearly events at Whitby such has been the growth in its popularity.

What Makes TVFMR Different?

My Designs & Colours

Who said that bags have to be plain? As someone who naturally dresses 'plain', I like visual interest and colour to come from my accessories. My designs are created from real-life subject-matter and often feature forms, shapes and colours created by nature. In these somewhat depressing times colour is good!

Because I create my designs from photographs of real-life subject-matter they come with inbuilt form, shape and colour by default. This provides me with an original and unique starting point and base colour palette upon which I can stamp my own style and experiment at will with light, colour and texture until something begins to emerge that I think has potential.

As a photographer, when I'm looking for new product-related design subject-matter my eye is always naturally drawn to anything with strong form and shape. The flowers in my garden, a group of trees, a tray of cacti plants or industrial machinery have all proved to generate some of my best designs to date.

'Slow Fashion'

The oak tree in the field behind my house is more than just the inspiration for my logo. It also makes a great symbol for 'slow fashion'. Aiming to be 'slow fashion' is a key TVFMR objective and one which has a number of positive benefits in relation to the fashion sector's impact on the planet and wardrobe attitude.

The fashion industry is changing. It has to in response to more enlightened customers who are increasingly demanding more sustainable, eco-friendly products and ethical production environments.

'Slow fashion' is now an increasingly used term and is the direct antithesis of 'fast fashion' which has dominated for so many years. Fast fashion has resulted in high levels of consumer 'throw away' mentality driven by relentless quick-fire fashion trends and which has not only resulted in reduced quality but also led to dreadful production ethics and horrendous amounts of landfill.

Slow fashion now seeks to offer a different model and educate consumers to think in a more sustainable way and buy more quality items that they will keep for longer.

As a new business, I have selected specialist British suppliers who exhibit a good balance of ethical and eco-friendly production and produce high quality, long-life, premium products via a combination of state-of-the art digital printing and traditional artisan craftsmanship all whilst still achieving competitive price points.

Made-To-Order

Made-to-order goes hand-in-hand with 'Slow Fashion'. You may have to be patient and wait a short while before your bag arrives but you'll know that when it does, it's been made just for you, will utterly gorgeous, will last for ages and has been hand- crafted in London using traditional methods.

Made-to-order offers something relatively new in the world of bags and accessories and has a number of benefits for both customers and designers.

By not having to forward-fund seasonal, trend-based, stock inventory means that I am free to focus on continuous, waste-free, design and the rapid launch of new collections featuring vibrant bold patterns and themes. I don't have to play safe

As time goes by, I would like to be able to offer more vegan and plastic-free alternatives and I'm continually working with my suppliers towards this particular goal.

Helping The Planet

Made-to-order lies outside the scope of returns and refunds often associated with mass-produced-off-the-self products. We will of course refund/replace if items have been damaged or lost in transit or in very rare cases of quality and production faults and where these are agreed in conjunction with our suppliers.

*No returns will be accepted or refunds issued for any other reason than damage or production quality issues.*

As I know that my suppliers have great track records in relation to consistently producing high quality made-to-order products,
I have every confidence that you will be delighted with whatever you purchase from TVFMR.

Any genuine business only wants satisfied and happy customers as that's what builds trust, loyalty and continuing positive relationships.

For my part, this means that I put an enormous amount of time and care into crafting my designs, choosing suppliers and sampling products before offering for sale.

For my customer's part, I hope that products are chosen with care and orders placed on the basis of true desire and certainty.

In 2023, the British Fashion Council reported that the UK generated over 750,000 tonnes of carbon emissions as a result of fashion returns and that some 23million related items were either incinerated or went to landfill. This just has to change.

Please take time to make your purchase decision and be certain that your chosen item is what you really want.

If when it's delivered it is damaged or, despite rigorous quality checks, you discover an obvious production fault then please contact me immediately with a clear photo of the issue. (admin@tvfmr.com)

I will review and consult with the supplier and contact you again thereafter.
