'Graphite'
'Graphite' was born from an image I captured of the late autumn bullrushes in my garden pond. Their vertical pattern created an interesting reed-like result and, having set the colour adjustments to highlight any hints of remaining colour, this produced autumnal tints appearing as hot orange and fiery reds which I thought provided great contrast against the monochrome. Experimenting with various mirrored pattern combinations further emphasised the colour flashes as an interesting series of motifs and which are now a particular feature of this particular design."
