Abstract designs derived from nature

I've discovered that nature natural colours, shapes and textures make for great abstract art-like results and which are fascinating to witness emerge during the digital 'darkroom' process I use to 'develop' them from my original photo-images. You never really know what might result from an image of a pomegranate tree, bullrush, copse of trees or lush herbaceous  border until you start the process and I love that.

Featured Collection: 'Psychedelique'

When I saw 'Psychedelique' emerge, it's retro look so reminded of 1960s 'Swinging London' with its iconic fashion and music. I first visited London on a school trip towards the end of the decade and instantly fell in love with it all. Carnaby Street was the place to go for 'right-on', 'groovy' fashion - much of which was in vibrant multi-colour patterns and often refeered to as 'psychedelic' ('man'). You dig? No? You're such a 'square'!

The underlying image is actually of a pomegranate tree on the Greek island of Corfu. You can just about make out the sole round fruit middle-left nestled amidst the leaves and branches. The colour palette lends itself especially well to offering a range of complementary range of plain colour options for the back and sides of several bag models including the mini-shopper (seen left), the bucket, crossbody and washbag. As well as default charcoal, I've created versions with cream, rose, blackcurrant, tangerine and duck egg - and even duo-tone, split, combinations.
